My Story
Marlon Greenwood handles legal representation in the area of Corporations, Real Property, personal injury, Wills and Estate Planning. He has held various internships and positions with the Lytal Reiter Firm, The Legal Aid Society of West Palm Beach, and the Broward County Public Defender. Through these experiences Marlon gained employment opportunities ranging from the most prestigious law firms to legal non-profit and governmental agencies serving indigent clients.
In 2003, he graduated from Cornell University, receiving a B.A. in Africana Studies with a focus in Economics. He went on to become the first to complete a dual degree program at the Florida International University College of Law earning his Juris Doctor Law Degree, and a Masters of Business Administration from the College of Business concurrently. In law school He served as an Officer for both the Black Law Student Association and the Caribbean Student Bar Association, while becoming a founding member of Phi Alpha Delta, the largest legal fraternity. Perhaps his most valuable experience in law school was working in the Community Development Clinic, where he served clients from the community with legal issues under the guidance of a licensed Attorney. Mr. Greenwood went on to serve as Graduate Fellow to the Professor of Corporate Law at Florida International University before going on to work several mortgage lender accounts following the mortgage crash of 2007. Through these experiences Mr. Greenwood gained extensive experience in contract drafting and review, corporations, wills, trusts, and personal injury.
On May, 12, 2018, Mr. Greenwood received a certificate of Special Congressional Recognition from Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman-Shultz for his community leadership and activism. Mr. Greenwood, a Fort Lauderdale native, initially pursued community involvement through his work at inner city schools as an educator. He also participated in many community service initiatives through his fraternity, Omega Psi Phi. He went on to help create affordable housing in the community by rehabbing foreclosure homes and promoting local ownership in disadvantaged areas. In 2016, Mr. Greenwood merged these skill sets and initiatives, to rehabilitate a dilapidated and defunct nursery school in the Sistrunk area of Fort Lauderdale. He went on to found Cradle Learning Center at this location, a non-profit educational organization that serves underprivileged children in the community. It was for his efforts through this initiative and a partnership with the Business Leadership Institute at Nova Southeastern University, that Mr. Greenwood would later be recognized.
In 2018, Mr. Greenwood would go on to found TaxLegal Inc., a tax and legal consultation firm, where he offers free seminars at local community centers and at senior communities, while offering discounted services in office. Attorney Greenwood also sits on the YMCA Advisory Board and uses that as another platform to advocate for children and community involvement. Mr. Greenwood is currently working on a number of community redevelopment projects aimed at promoting ownership and continues to advocate for the under-served.
